Esteemed Performer Pat Finn, Known For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at 60 Years Old.

US entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in popular programs such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at the age of 60.

The skilled improv artist died at home in Los Angeles, California recently having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, according to news outlets.

"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his relatives said in a statement.

They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".

A Prolific Television Career

His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.

He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.

He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, playing a host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.

During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous popular shows, including:

  • The King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • "House"

He was most recognized for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.

His cinematic roles are It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

A Life in Improv

Beyond his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was part of a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Paying homage, peer Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he posted publicly.

The actor is survived by his spouse Donna, his children, and his family.
